Dr. Theodore Meltzer
 
   Dr. Theodore H. Meltzer is a consultant in filtration and high-purity water primarily to the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries. His interest centers on the technical requirements of marketing applications, on water system critiques and logic, and on validation concerns and practices. He has served as an expert in legal litigations in these fields.

   He has published some 100 papers, holds four patents, and has authored two books entitled, “Filtration in the Pharmaceutical Industry” and “High-Purity Water Preparation for the Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical and Power Industries”. He has authored or coauthored chapters on “Ultraviolet and Ozone Systems”, “Pharmaceutical Water: Generation, Storage and Distribution”, “Filtrative Sterilization with Microporous Membranes”, and “The Sizing of Microporous Membrane Systems”.

   Trained as a polymer chemist as well as a filtration specialist, he holds a B.S. in chemistry from the College of the City of New York, an M.A. in preparative organic and biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin, a Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from the University of Chicago, and has performed postdoctoral work on the mechanical properties of polymers at Princeton University.
 
 
 
   Dr. Teri C. ("T.C.") Soli is a full-time independent consultant to the pharmaceutical, biologicals, and medical device industries with services covering such areas as water systems, sterilization and aseptic processing, contamination control, and microbiological laboratories, as well as training, validation and regulatory compliance issues related to these areas. He has been consulting since 1995, most recently through his new company, Soli Pharma Solutions, Inc.

   T.C. has 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience covering chemical and microbiological analytical troubleshooting and development, quality control, quality assurance, project management, regulatory affairs, business development, process validation and troubleshooting, and all aspects of pharmaceutical water systems. His expertise with pharmaceutical water is extensive, enhanced by his career-long involvements with water and microbiology-related industry committees and lecturing experience.

   He is currently in his second 5-year term as a member of the USP Pharmaceutical Water Expert Committee and has authored numerous papers, USP Chapters and Monograph revisions, and lectured extensively on various aspects of pharmaceutical water. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Microbiology from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology with a Minor in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona.

Charles Michaud
 
   “Chubb” Michaud is the CEO and Technical Director of Systematix Company, of Buena Park, CA, which he founded in 1982. A University of Maine graduate, he holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and has 30+ years of field experience in water and fluid treatment applications and systems design. several US Patents on ion exchange processes.

   An active member of the Water Quality Association, Michaud chaired the Ion Exchange Task Force (1999-2001) and currently chairs the Commerical / Industrial Section (since 2001). He was elected to the WQA Board of Directors and Board of Governors in 2005 and is a Certified Water Specialist Level VI. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Pacific WQA and chairs its Technical Committee. He was a founding member of he Technical Review Committee for Water Conditioning and Purification Magazine. He has authored over 100 technical publications and papers and is a regular presenter at conventions.
 
 
 
   Patrick Banes is the Regional Sales Manager for Oakley Specialized Services, Inc., Metuchen, NJ, where he has worked since 1981. His responsibilities at Oakley include market development and project engineering for the pharamceutical and biotech industry.

   Mr. Banes holds a B.A. in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire. He has taken several graduate inorganic chemistry courses at Rutgers University. He is a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (New Jersey Chapter) and former subcommittee member for the ISPE Baseline Pharmaceutical Engineering Guide.

   He has given presentations on the subject of passivation of stainless steel for the ASME BPE, ISPE, PDA, ASTM, AICHE, Interphex and other technical education orga-nizations. His papers on passivation and derouging have been published in “Micro-contamination”, “Pharmaceutical Engineering”, and “Ultrapure Water” magazines.

Jeff Campbell
 
   Mr. Jeff Campbell has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona. He joined Hydranautics in 1999 and has 20 years experience in the membrane technology field. Currently he manages Business Development and Sales activities for specialty products and applications in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, sweetener, and specialty chemical industries.

   Prior to Hydranautics, he served in various management roles in Operations, Sales and Applications Engineering at Desalination Systems, Inc. He has served as Product Manager of Industrial Membranes for Osmonics, Inc. After joining the RO industry in 1985, Jeff was a process engineer in the Research and Development department for Fluid Systems.
